本書為國家社科基金項目“英漢雙語學習者運動事件的心理呈現”(15BYY063)研究成果。 薩不爾-沃爾夫假說認為,語言決定了人的思維方式。雖然後人對此假說提出了種種不同的看法,但語言與思維關繫的問題,歷來受到多個領域學者的關注。如果說話者在嬰幼兒階段學會母語後即發展出一種與之對應的思維模式,那麼到他長大後學習第二種語言(外語)時,是否意味著他要習得一種新的思維模式?本研究采用相似性判斷的行為實驗範式,通過範疇化(顯性層面的選擇策略)和連續性(隱性層面的反應時)兩種測量手段考察了英漢單語學習者和不同水平的英漢雙語學習者對空間運動事件的心理概念化過程。 研究發現,首先,所有被試均傾向於依靠運動路徑(而非運動方式)是否相似來判斷運動事件之間的整體相似性。其次,反應時的分析顯示,在判斷運動事件的整體反應時上,漢語單語人群顯著短於英語單語人群,表明英漢兩種語言的空間事件類型學差異及其等
