本研究基於語料庫語言學的工具和方法，繫統考察《魔戒》在大陸和臺灣兩個中譯本的連接詞使用情況，對比研究兩個譯本的顯化程度。通過與漢語原創奇幻小說和《魔戒》英文原文分別對比譯本連接詞的使用情況來探索翻譯顯化、顯化的具體體現以及顯化受原文影響的程度。作者自建150萬字左右的英漢平行語料庫，包括《魔戒》英語原文和兩個漢譯本，並利用與《魔戒》主題相似的奇幻小說《九州飄渺錄》建立參考語料庫。針對從英語原文和原創漢語對比的角度預設的三個問題，本研究提出一個綜合的顯化模型。利用對數似然函數找出兩個中譯本中比漢語原創作品更常用的連接詞。采用定量和定性相結合的方法，結合英語原文和漢語原創作品，對照分析兩個中譯本的連接詞使用顯化程度。
