近年來，在中國農業農村部的高度重視下，各級漁業主管部門及水產技術推廣、水生動物疫病預防控制、水產科研機構圍繞“努力確保不發生重大區域性動物疫情、努力確保不發生重大農產品質量安全事件”，堅持“以防為主，防控結合”的方針，以水生動物防疫機構建設為抓手，不斷健全水生動物防疫體繫；以水生動物疫病監測為抓手，不斷完善防疫工作機制；以防疫標準化建設為抓手，不斷提升防疫技術水平；以檢疫人員技術培訓為抓手，不斷加強防疫隊伍建設；以水產健康養殖技術推廣為抓手，不斷提高水產健康養殖水平。目前，中國水生動物防疫體繫已初具規模，水生動物防疫標準化體繫初步形成，水生動物疫病測報機制初步建立，水生動物疫病防控能力不斷提升，保障了水產品安全有效供給，為推進中國現代漁業建設作出了重要貢獻。本書為英文版，對2019年中國水生動物衛生狀況進行了闡述。
