夏洛蒂·勃朗特夏洛蒂·勃朗特(CharlotteBront?,1816年4月21日---1855年3月31日)生於英國北部約克郡的豪渥斯的一個鄉村牧師家庭。夏洛蒂·勃朗特有兩個姐姐、兩個妹妹和一個弟弟。兩個妹妹,即艾米莉·勃朗特和安妮·勃朗特,也是著名作家,因而在英國文學史上常有"勃朗特三姐妹"之稱。1847年,夏洛蒂·勃朗特出版著名的長篇小說《簡·愛》,轟動文壇。1848年秋到1849年她的弟弟和兩個妹妹相繼去世。在死亡的陰影和困惑下,她堅持完成了《謝利》一書,寄托了她對妹妹艾米莉的哀思,並描寫了英國早期自發的工人運動。她另有作品《維萊特》(1853)和《教師》(1857),這兩部作品均根據其本人生活經歷寫成。夏洛蒂·勃朗特善於以抒情的筆法描寫自然景物,作品具有濃厚的感情色彩。注:《教師》一書在她死後纔出版。大約在1857年左右。
