《文化透視英語教程》是一套以英美文化為切入點的英語綜合技能訓練教程。 該教程式教學，圍繞一個文化專題，所選的課文往往從不同的角度、在不同的層面上對同一專題展開討論。 包含了(Close Reading，Further Reading，Listening和Writing四大部分。 Close Reading以訓練學生的閱讀理解能力為目標，並配有一定數量的有關詞彙、語法和句型的練習。 Further Reading的一篇則從另外一個角度對同一文化專題展開探討，可作為泛讀材料或供教師在課堂上組織對該文化專題討論時使用；第二篇則可作為訓練學生快速閱讀能力的教材。 Listening含有一篇聽力材料和一部推薦電影。部分聽力材料選自美國人對某一文化專題進行討論時的錄音。推薦的電影除了內容梗概外，還有配套的討論題，可以作為視聽說訓練的材料。 Writing含有一篇閱讀材料和配套的寫作練習。遵照循序漸進的原則，寫作練習設置為從單句到段落，再到整篇短文的寫作訓練。 本套教程共含6冊，每冊各有1，《文化透視英語教程(1)》為一冊。
