臨滄市，國土面積97.5%是山區，260多萬人口，要實現臨滄這樣的民族貧困地區全體人民持續脫貧致富，困難重重。臨滄立足區域特征，因地制宜選擇產業，持續優化產業布局，持之以恆抓產業發展。上世紀六十年代起開始布局蔗糖產業，穩步實現60萬蔗農脫貧；1990年起優化布局茶葉產業，覆蓋高中低三個海撥段農業人口140萬人；2005年開始發展核桃產業，實現高海撥山區32萬農民脫貧；2002年將臨滄堅果作為生態修復樹進行推廣種植，帶動24萬人實現脫貧。到2020年，臨滄全部貧困人口持續穩定長久脫貧。臨滄產業優化布局，協調發展，使生態不斷得到修復、老百姓收入不斷增長、農民綜合技能不斷提高。本研究以臨滄堅果產業發展為例，通過實地調研，收集大量真實案例，完整展示堅果產業選擇、試種推廣、規劃布局、示範引導、企業引領、科技支撐的全過程。臨滄產業發展的成功經驗告訴我們，綠水青山就是金山銀山。
